Artist's Comments

This took a ridiculous amount of time on my part and my dad's, but we're happy with the outcome. 8D This is huge, it's about 4 1/2 feet tall. The entire screen was handcrafted out of walnut by my dad, and I painted all the animals with acrylics. We'll be taking this to Tokyo in Tulsa next weekend!! Thanks! It's kind of hard because I use water to blend colors and it likes to sit on top of the surface. If I mess up inside of the animal (like the eyes or something) I can paint over it, but if it gets outside of the line I usually have to redo it. >_<

Oh and what symbols do you have next to the animals? I have a necklace that has the sign for the year of the Rooster, but mine looks different.

Yours is probably the Chinese kanji for the zodiac, and I'm using the Japanese signs. :D

incredible work, good job. I love all the illustrations, incredibly clean for paint, and your dad's wood work is very nice.
I had pondered going to Tokyo in Tulsa but it was just too far away *is in central Texas*
